Bait-ul Ma’mur: Just Above Allah’s House

Bait-ul Ma’mur is sometimes referred to as the ‘Frequented House’ or the Celestial House of Allah (SWT). This has a great significance in Islam because it is believed to be located just above the Kaaba which is considered as Allah’s House on Earth. It is a heavenly version of the Kaaba. It is considered the focal point of every divine activity, a place where all commands of Allah (SWT) are carried out.

While the Kaaba on Earth serves as the center of Ibadat for all Muslims, the Kaaba on Jannat holds a similar status. It acts as a connection between the earthly and the heavenly matter. Just the way pilgrims in their hajj umrah travels perform Tawaf around the Kaaba on Earth, here in Bait-ul-Mamur, angels also continuously encircle the House.

The Holy Quran on ‘Bait-ul Ma’mur’

In the Holy Book of Islam, Allah (SWT) mentions the Bait-ul Ma’mur. In Surah Tur, He says that there is a similar house over the Kaaba at Makkah and that is visited by the angels. Every day 70,000 angels come to worship this heavenly adobe of Allah (SWT).

Even Prophet (PBUH) in his Hadith said when he asked Angel Gabriel about the Bait-ul Ma’mur, he said that it is the house where angels come to offer salah daily. They visit the place only once. Every day a new batch of angels come to this place following the leader of the group. This cycle of coming and leaving of the angels will continue till the day of Judgement. It is the duty of that leader to bring these angels to the place in Heaven that is meant for them. From here they engage in Dhikr and continue it till the day of Yawm ad-Din.

It shows the Taqwa of angels on Allah (SWT) and highlights why Muslims should have the same on Allah (SWT). Engaging in the Ibadat of the Almighty is very necessary if one wants to save them from the fire of Jahannam.

Significance of Tawaf in Hajj: Facts to know is here

The believers of Allah (SWT) come to Mecca to perform their Farz. Many of them come with the hajj tour operator. In the pilgrimage of Hajj, there are several steps that they perform. Amongst these rituals there is an act of walking around the Holy Kaaba, this is known as Tawaf. This ritual reflects the unending cycle of life and how everything revolves around the Supreme Power.

In Hajj, there are three different types of Tawaf each has its unique meaning and significance. These types are –

  1. Tawaf al-Qudum: When the pilgrims arrive in Mecca for their pilgrimage, the first Tawaf they perform is known as Tawaf al-Qudum. In this type, they express that they are ready and equally eager to begin their pilgrimage of Hajj.
  2. Tawaf al-Ifadah: On the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah, when pilgrims are done with their stone pelting on the plain of Jamarat they come back from Mina to Mecca. After that, they perform Tawaf al-Ifadah around the Holy Kaaba.
  3. Tawaf al-Wida: This is the farewell or final Tawaf pilgrims perform before leaving the holy Kaaba and the city of Mecca. This tawaf marks the end of a hajj tour.

For Muslims, Hajj is a journey of a lifetime and Tawaf is an obligatory ritual of this pilgrimage. This is not only a physical act of circling the holy Kaaba, but also a reminder of the unity Islam holds in it.

Performing Hajj to Seek Mercy from Allah

Being a Muslim, the best gift in life one can receive is the Barkat of Allah (SWT) and the best gift after life is securing a place in Jannat. Hajj is one such farz of Islam that helps a Muslim to get both of them. Hajj is a way to seek mercy from the divine and live a sin-free life.

So, to perform this pilgrimage millions of Muslims come to the holy city of Mecca every year. Some come with government hajj authority; some come with cheap hajj packages while some pilgrims choose luxury hajj tours just to come close to the Almighty Allah (SWT).

Conclusion

As we have come to the end of the blog post, you may have got an idea of Bait-ul Ma’mur. Understanding the significance of this heavenly Kaaba along with the Holy Kaaba at Mecca will enrich any pilgrimage be it Hajj or Umrah. If you are going for your once-in-a-lifetime journey, may Allah (SWT) listen to all your Dua.
